Funny Story by Emily Henry

Plot Summary

Funny Story is about a woman whose fiancé leaves her for his childhood best friend, so she ends up living with that best friend’s ex — and what starts as an awkward roommate situation slowly turns into an unexpected, tender romance as they both try to rebuild their lives.

My Review

There were so many themes discussed in this book from breakups to family dynamics to friendships, romance and career. I really enjoyed how full the plot felt because of this.

Another thing I loved was the character development. I felt like, with both Daphne & Miles, we really knew them so fully by the end of the book and got to see how their characters were shaped not only by their lives up to the point we meet them but also how they positively impacted one another in their relationship.

It was funny, had lots of wholesome moments and moments of really depth through the themes discussed.

Rating: 4 out of 5.
