Plot Summary
A novel exploring grief, love, and family, focusing on two brothers—30-something lawyer Peter and 22-year-old chess prodigy Ivan Koubek—in the wake of their father’s death.
My Review
There was so much about this book that was beautifully written, so if you’re looking for an introspective book to annotate I can see why people would enjoy.
For me, I just don’t think it was quite up my street. I found it a bit too slow pacing wise and the writing style took me a minute to get into.
I also think because I loved Normal People so much, I had such high expectations and just didn’t connect to this one in the same way sadly.
